I am at FOB Cobra, this place is very small and has literally nothing here. I wash my own clothes in a mop bucket and there is no PX so Loco and I just spend most of our time on patrols around the FOB and missions to pass the time! If at all possible some sort of doggie bed, Loco has been sharing the bed with me and haha it's quite uncomfortable... haha he takes all the room. I actually have looked at your page, and I know a handfull of MWD teams on there. It's great to see that.

Good morning/Good afternoon.

My name is SSG Blakely Pattison and I am currently deployed to Afghanistan with my Specialized Search Dog Luci .

I have been a handler for about six years now and have had such wonderful experiences with dogs, my first MWD I retired upon leaving Iraq and he is around to this day, he is a Shepherd and is such a great companion. Luci is quite a mess with her snoring to pushing me off of the bed late at night but a wonderful dog.

The weather here is weird, it is considered winter right now but to me it isnt, it gets around 60-65 degrees and is quite nice now but will heat up in March, the vest would be put to use around the March-April time frame... Thank you so much for what you do and I really mean that, a lot of soldiers sometimes don't realize that even though we get recognition for what we do we can't accomplish the mission without the wonderful folks like yourself who support us in this endeavor.

I am at FOB Cobra (Tinsley) which is in the Oruzgan Province of Afghanistan, we are close to the Helmand river which is very pretty.

. . . well god bless and I will talk to you soon!

Subject: Hello

Hi Miss Nunley,

I received your e-mail today and I'm glad to hear that you were successful with getting some great equipment for our dogs. I really appreciate all the hard work you are doing and can't say thank you enough . . . I'm still working on the group picture of all the dogs and handlers due to a couple handlers not being here at the moment.

I have included a few pictures of Cila and I working in Iraq. Thank you again for everything that you do and God Bless!

Mrs. Nunley,

I just want to know how and what we need to have my kennels in Germany adopted . . .We are the flagship kennels for all of europe. We have the most dogs of any kennel and cover the largest area in Germany for narcotics and explosives . . . Added onto that, we deploy the most to all over Europe, Iraq and Afghanistan. Any help at all will be very appreciated. Thank you for all of your support.

Subject: Boxes

Mrs. Nunley,

I wanted to write you real quick to let you know we received all your boxes! AND THANK YOU. The equipment and toys are GREAT! We received the RPCM® ChillyDog Vests box a bit before the other two came in. We already worked our dogs in them as well. There are a few issues we have to work out, but don't worry, we realized it was all because of handler error. The dogs loved them and worked well in them...except Grace. Grace LOVED the vest soo much that she kept lying down on her stomach to "soak" it all in. All I could do was laugh at this while SGT Garced look at her confused to why she kept sprawling out! We'll have to work with her a little more :)

SGT Garced and MWD Grace feeling cool in her new gear.

Your other two boxes came in today. I handed everything out and everyone was excited. Although the dogs will probably be pouting when we drag them out and play dress up. Jody hasn't worn dog booties for a while now and it is always entertaining to see them walking for the first couple minutes... Along with the equipment and toys you sent the beanie babies. Know that I already have them in my "mission bag" so the next time I run across any kids Ill have them with me to hand out.

MWD Jody trying on her Mutluks for the first time.

All kitted out and ready to work.

MWD Jody gets a chance to lay down and just cool off with her new RPCM® ChillyDog Vest and get a chance to get used to the rest of the new gear.

Everything will work out great. I was so relieved when I received your boxes. Now Jody and I will BOTH be protected out there. It is already getting over 120 and the wind and dust is never ending. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I wish there was more I could do or say to let you know how much I appreciate this. If you think of ANYTHING please let me know. Take care and Thank you again. Molly

I hope you realize Mrs Nunley how much your support means to us. Not just the K9 world or even just the people you are in direct contact with (i.e. me) I've told everyone back home about you and what you have done.

MWD Grace enjoying her
new ball and getting thouroughly FURminated!

About your son, your dogs, and your contributions. Not only are you helping all of us out here (as well as our K9 partners) but your helping our friends and family. When they hear about others helping their loved ones or even just thinking of us, it lets them know that we are not alone out here and that people have not forgotten. As you said before, even if people do not support this war, they are supporting us. I just want to say Thank You again for everything you do. Molly

These shedding combs are amazing and effecient and she is so much more comfortable without all that extra dead hair. She's also not about to drop her new ball...
